CLINTON, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's cross country team took second at the RMU Colonial Invitational hosted by Robert Morris University Saturday at the Youthtowne Fields XC Course.

The Rock were the top non-Division I school in the team standings with Division I Bucknell winning the team title with 24 points. SRU was second with 48 points with Division I Robert Morris a distant third with 82 points. Indiana (Pa.), which entered the meet ranked one spot below SRU in the latest regional rankings, was fourth with 109 points. Mount Union rounded out the top five with 119 points and Point Park was sixth with 170 points. Duquesne also competed, but did not have five runners finish and did not earn a team score.

Slippery Rock was paced by graduate transfer
Joseph Cintavey in his SRU debut. Cintavey, who transferred in after earning his undergraduate degree at Shippensburg, took second overall after covering the 8,000-meter course in 24:27.

The Rock had three runners finish below a 5-minute mile pace with
Ethan Brentham placing fifth overall in 24:39 and
Troy Hart finishing seventh overall in 24:45.

Devon Navaroli was 18th in 25:11 and
Tucker Davis rounded out the scorers in 29th place in 25:39.

Michael Novak was the sixth SRU finisher in 37th place in 26:06 and
John Juszynski capped the top seven in 39th place in 26:11.

Saturday marked the second competition of the season for SRU and the first with its full complement of runners. The Rock will compete in back-to-back weeks for the only time this season with a trip to Lock Haven next Saturday for the LHU Invitational.
