SCOUTING THE ROCK
LAST TIME OUT

Slippery Rock lost a 4-1 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference road decision Saturday at No. 1 East Stroudsburg University.

HOFFMAN CLIMBS GOAL LIST
Freshman Hilary Hoffman led The Rock's efforts against top-ranked East Stroudsburg by scoring her third goal of the season, which is tied for the 10th-highest goal total by a freshman in program history.

Hoffman is off to a great start in her collegiate career. She has started all 11 games on the way to compiling seven points on three goals and one assist while placing 14 of her 21 total shots on target. She leads SRU in this season in total points, total shots and shots on goal while being tied for the team lead in goals scored and assists.

The program record for goals scored by a freshman is 11 by Kayla Ulrich in 2017.

UPPING THE PRESSURE IN THE 2ND HALF
While The Rock averages just 2.8 shots and 1.4 penalty corners in the first half of games this season, SRU has been able to increase its intensity over the third and fourth quarters with per game averages of 4.0 shots and 2.9 corners which has resulted in six of its 10 goals this year occurring in the second half.

ROUNDING OUT THE ROCK'S ATTACK
In addition to Hoffman's standout rookie year, five other Rock athletes have tallied points for SRU.

Gianna Conti is second on the team for SRU in both goals (3) and points (6). Bailee Christman has produced one goal and one assist while Erin Roland and Grace Maynard have posted one goal apiece.

53 of The Rock's 84 wins (63.1 percent) over the last 11 years have come at the friendly confines of Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

SCOUTING MANSFIELD
• While the nationally ranked Mountaineers come to Mihalik-Thompson Stadium having lost two of their last three games, the defeats are deceiving as they have come against the top two teams in the nation in East Stroudsburg (1-0) and Shippensburg (3-2).

• Through 11 games, Mansfield finds itself ranked among the nation's best in a bevy of statistical categories including scoring margin (fourth / +2.43), goals per game (fifth / 3.64), save percentage (sixth /.790) and penalty corners per game (sixth / 10.36).

• Individually, Mansfield is led by Alex Esterling who has tallied 19 points on eight goals and three assists. Blaise Cugini has added seven goals while Kenedy Stroup sets up the attack with seven assists.

• Esterling scored four of Mansfield's five goals in last year's victory over The Rock.

• Defensively, goalkeeper August Lewis has played all but one quarter for Mansfield this year. She carries a 1.01 GAA with 41 saves and a .788 save percentage. Hannah Meyer also leads the PSAC with three defensive saves.
