ALL-TIME SERIES
Slippery Rock has won seven of eight games against the Bobcats to improve its all-time record versus Frostburg State to 17-10-1. The lone blemish on SRU's record against FSU over the last 26 seasons was a close 1-0 overtime loss earlier in the year at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
LAST MEETING
Slippery Rock cleared 11 penalty corners and fended off 12 Frostburg State shots in regulation, but the Bobcats were eventually able to break through The Rock's stout defense via an Ashlyn Cave goal with just two minutes to go in the first overtime period to earn a 1-0 victory Sept. 8 at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
Hilary Hoffman fired off three shots on goal against Frostburg State while
Erin Roland and
Kayla Del Vecchio had one on target attempt each.
Grace Burker stopped six shots as well.

Slippery Rock lost a tough 2-0 game to eighth-ranked Millersville Sept. 30 at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
PAST SUCCESS AGAINST FROSTBURG
Several Rock athletes have enjoyed success over their careers in previous games against the Bobcats.
The duo of
Grace Maynard and
Leslie Colliver have scored two goals apiece versus Frostburg State with
Bailee Christman adding three points (1 G / 1 A) and the trio of
Alex Held,
Haley Metcalf and
Kayla Del Vecchio each assisting on one goal.
Grace Burker is 2-1 in three games against FSU with eight saves and five goals allowed.
HALFWAY HOME
The Millersville game marked the halfway point of The Rock's 17-game regular season schedule. Through its first nine games Slippery Rock has averaged 1.00 goals per game on 7.7 shots and 5.1 penalty corners per game. Defensively, SRU allows 2.22 goals, 12.1 shots and 7.44 penalty corners per game.
Slippery Rock's scoring has been evenly distributed throughout the duration of games with four goals in the first half, four in the second half and one coming by way of its shootout victory over Maryville.
Opponents have had their greatest success against SRU in the first half as 13 of The Rock's 20 goals allowed have occurred in the opening two quarters.
INDIVIDUAL OFFENSIVE LEADERS
In addition to being The Rock's only multi-goal scorers so far this season,
Gianna Conti and
Hilary Hoffman also lead SRU in total points with six and five, respectively. Conti has earned her team-high point total with three goals while Hoffman has registered two goals and one assist through the opening half of her freshman season.
Christman, Maynard and
Erin Roland have scored one goal each with Christman adding an assist as well for three points. Metcalf rounds out The Rock's offensive leaders with one assist.
Hoffman and Roland are tied for the team lead in shots on goal at 11.
BURKER UP TO SECOND IN PSAC
Following a five-save performance against Millersville, Burker now ranks second in the entire Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in saves per game at 5.00.
The Rock's junior leader has played all 568:02 of the season to date, making 45 saves with a .692 save percentage and a 2.11 Goals Against Average.
CONSISTENT PRESENCES IN THE LINEUP
Six Rock athletes have started all nine games this season in Burker, Hoffman, Christman, Roland, Metcalf and Del Vecchio.
Meanwhile eight others – Conti, Maynard,
Madison Shomo,
Megan Rude,
Julia Boettler,
Paige Shannon,
Lacey Berghorn and
Lucy Hutchinson - have appeared in all nine games in a mixture of starting and reserve roles.
A LOOK AHEAD
While this year's games against Frostburg State are non-conference contests, beginning next season the contests will be league games as FSU is poised to join the PSAC as an associate member in field hockey in 2024.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Since starting the season 3-0 with wins over Converse, Wingate and The Rock, Frostburg State has gone on to post a 3-4 record over its last seven games with the most recent result being a 5-1 setback at No. 2 Shippensburg.
10 games into its season, the Bobcats have averaged 2.20 goals per game while surrendering 2.00 a contest.
Paige Leitzel leads FSU with 11 points on four goals – three of which have been game-winners - and three assists. Femke Hofkamp has added nine points via four goals and one assist.
Other multi-goal scorers for Frostburg State include Grace Daniels (3), Emilie Bonhivert (3), Macy Layfield (2) and Cave (2).
Goalkeeper Zoe Barnes has played all but 15 minutes for Frostburg State this season. She has made 60 saves for a .750 save percentage and a 1.94 GAA. Barnes stopped five shots in her shutout against SRU earlier in the year.
