NEW ORLEANS – The Slippery Rock University men's cross country team and individuals Ethan Brentham, Tucker Davis, Shannon Dooley and Devon Navaroli have earned All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

In order for a team to earn the All-Academic recognition, the cumulative GPA for the entire roster must be 3.0 or above following the fall semester of competition. The Rock compiled a team GPA of 3.503 following the fall semester, which ranked No. 2 in the PSAC behind only Mercyhurst and was the 18th highest GPA among all men's XC programs in Division II.

In addition to the entire team being honored, Brentham, Davis, Dooley and Navaroli picked up the individual All-Academic recognition, which requires excellence in the classroom and on the course. In order to earn the honor, a student-athlete must maintain above a 3.25 cumulative GPA and finish in the top 30 percent of all eligible runners at the NCAA Regional Championships.

Brentham becomes a three-time All-Academic honoree after earning the accolade following the 2019 and 2021 seasons as well. Davis and Dooley both picked up their second All-Academic award after both being recognized last fall and Navaroli was honored for the first time.

Brentham, a health and physical education major with a perfect 4.0 GPA, has now been recognized in every year he has competed. In addition to his excellence in the classroom, he also picked up All-Region honors for his performance on the course when he placed 19th at the Atlantic Region Championships during the fall.

Dooley, a finance major, was The Rock's third runner across the line at regionals in 27th place, just missing out on an All-Region spot. Navaroli, an exercise science major, was the fourth SRU runner at regionals in 45th place and Davis, a computing major, was the fifth scorer for SRU at regionals in 65th place.

Slippery Rock placed sixth at the Atlantic Regional Championships as a team.
