LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University cross country runner
Troy Hart was recognized Tuesday as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Male XC Athlete of the Week for his performance at the LHU Invitational last weekend.

Hart, a sophomore from Fredonia, Pennsylvania, earns his first career weekly honor after leading Slippery Rock to a fifth place finish in the team standings in the Crimson Race at LHU last Saturday.

The Rock were the top finishing team from the Atlantic Region and Hart was the highest finishing runner among all Atlantic Region and PSAC schools in the race.

He took 16th overall in a field of 290 runners with nine of the runners ahead of him coming from Division I schools. Hart covered the 8,000-meter course in a personal best time of 24:58, averaging 5:01 per mile.

The Rock were fifth overall in a field of 34 teams with 160 points. The next-highest finishing team from the Atlantic Region was Bloomsburg in ninth with 291 points.

Slippery Rock will rest this weekend before returning to action Oct. 8 at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh.
