SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team will close the 2022 season Saturday on Senior Day with a 1 p.m. Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division game against Indiana (Pa.) at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

SENIOR DAY
Slippery Rock will recognize its 2022 senior class in a pregame ceremony, celebrating

Katie Dlugosz,
Emily Benham,
Emily Mox,
Taylor Baiers,
Cam Brady and
Jamie DiCarlo. The Rock's seven seniors have combined to play in 261 games with 171 starts over the last four years. The group has tallied 292 goals and 148 assists for 440 points while also grabbing 100 draw controls, 228 ground balls and recording 130 caused turnovers.

Molly Buettner and
Katie Dlugosz will all make their 50th career appearance Saturday.

RECORDS
Slippery Rock enters the game with a 10-6 overall record and a 6-5 mark in PSAC games. The Rock are riding a three-game winning streak and are coming off a 15-8 win over Lock Haven Wednesday. SRU has scored 64 goals over its last three games. Indiana (Pa.) enters with an 11-5 overall record and an 8-3 mark in PSAC games. The Crimson Hawks are coming off a 9-6 loss to Mercyhurst earlier this week.

PLAYOFFS DECIDED BY CLOSE GAMES
Slippery Rock narrowly missed the playoffs this spring with two one-goal losses in division play earlier this year (16-15 at Gannon, 13-12 at Seton Hill), while Indiana narrowly locked up a playoff spot with three one-goal divisional wins (15-14 in OT at Seton Hill, 13-12 in OT at Lock Haven, 12-11 at Mercyhurst) earlier this spring.

Slippery Rock jumped out to a 10-0 lead and held on for a 14-9 win on the road at Indiana back on April 5, handing the Crimson Hawks their only loss in the first round of PSAC West play. The Hawks outscored SRU 6-1 in the third quarter to claw back into the game, but could never get the margin under four goals. SRU posted advantages of 27-25 in shots and 14-13 in draw controls, while IUP managed a 26-25 edge in ground balls.
Emily Benham scored five goals and handed out two assists for SRU and
Jamie DiCarlo added a hat trick.
Gillian O'Rourke made four saves in goal. IUP got three goals and three assists from Jordan Kulp and eight saves from Ashley Andrikanich.

Slippery Rock has locked up its first 10-win season since 2018 and just the sixth 10-win season in program history, making interim head coach
Taryn Burkholder the fourth coach at SRU to record a 10-win season and just the second to do it in her first year. The Rock have doubled their win total from the 2021 season after finishing with a 5-7 record.Â

SRU is outscoring opponents 246-153 and outshooting the opposition 573-368. SRU has also posted advantages of 277-186 in draw controls, 177-142 in caused turnovers and 325-300 in ground balls.

Emily Benham leads the attack with 48 goals and 36 assists and has already set the SRU single-season point and assist records. She scored her 100th career goal Wednesday.

BENHAM MOVING UP RECORD BOOKS
Emily Benham became the 15th player in SRU history to reach 100 career points earlier this season and became the 10th player in SRU history to record 100 career goals earlier this week. She now has 162 points, which ranks fifth all-time at SRU. Her 62 career assists rank second all-time at SRU and her 36 single-season assists are already a record. Benham's 84 points this season are also already an SRU record. Her 10 points against Lock Haven Wednesday also tied the SRU single-game record and was her second time hitting the 10-point milestone in a game.

100-POINT MILESTONES
Jamie DiCarlo became the 16th player at SRU to reach 100 career points two weeks ago and now has 103 points to rank 15th all-time in scoring.
Katie Dlugosz became the 17th player in SRU history to hit the 100-point milestone earlier this week and now sits 17th in all-time scoring. DiCarlo's 58 points this season currently rank ninth in single-season history at SRU, while Dlugosz's 54 points are 13th on the single-season ledger.

RONDEAU EYES DRAW CONTROL RECORDS
Charleigh Rondeau ranks second all-time at SRU in career draw controls with 220, trailing only Lauren Laubach (271) for the career record. Rondeau's 139 draw controls this spring are the most in single-season history at SRU. She has also set the single-game record twice this spring, first with 17 draw controls against Ursuline and again two weeks ago with 18 against Gannon.

SCOUTING THE CRIMSON HAWKS
Indiana, which got votes in this week's national rankings, is outscoring opponents 211-163 and outshooting the opposition 462-370. The Hawks have also posted advantages of 236-194 in draw controls, 358-320 in ground balls and 194-158 in caused turnovers.

Jordan Kulp leads the team with 18 goals and 40 assists. Chloe Borland (25g, 29a), Leah Hunter (27g, 11a), Chantal Jimenez (25g, 4a) and Brenna Whiteside (19g, 10a) round out the top scorers. Jimenez leads the team with 99 draw controls.
