Final Results
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's track and field team recorded 15 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference automatic qualifying marks, three NCAA provisional marks and two event wins at the Dave Labor Alumni Invitational Saturday at Slippery Rock's William Lennox Track.

Saturday's meet marked the first of two home meets for SRU this spring and featured more than 20 college teams and just shy of 1,000 total student-athletes.

The three NCAA provisional marks came from
Dalton Anderson and
Dylan Close in the javelin and
AJ Virata in the high jump.
Â
Anderson took second in the javelin behind a Division I thrower from Youngstown State with a throw of 63.79 meters, which ranked fourth in Division II entering today's competition. Close followed in third place with a season-best and NCAA mark of 59.43 meters, which ranked 18th entering this weekend. Anderson also placed sixth in the high jump with a PSAC mark of 1.85 meters.

Virata was second in the high jump with a clearance of 2.05 meters, which ranked 13th in the nation entering competition today. The freshman standout also won the 100-meter dash in a PSAC qualifying time of 10.97 seconds and ran a leg of the winning 4x100-meter relay, where he joined with
Bryan Dworek,
Parker Reed and
Isaiah Seybert to post a time of 48.74 seconds. Dworek also reached the PSAC mark in the long jump with a fourth place finish and a leap of 6.75 meters.

Slippery Rock had three throwers hit PSAC marks in the shot put, led by
John Eakin in second place at 16.50 meters.
Joshua Gose was third at 15.93 meters and
Joshua Rohland was sixth with a toss of 14.69 meters. Brandon VanDeMark led the way in the hammer with a fourth place finish and a throw of 53.78 meters.
Brandon McCray also hit the PSAC standard in 13th place with a throw of 46.91 meters.

Taye Lynch took second in the triple jump with a leap of 14.04 meters and
Dan Hyatt was third in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.36 meters to cap the PSAC marks in the jumps.

Devon Navaroli took seventh in a deep 1,500-meter field with a PSAC time of 3:57.41 and
Brenden Lewis was third in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.97 seconds to cap the PSAC marks on the track.

Slippery Rock will stay local next weekend and will compete at the Westminster College Invite Saturday, April 9 in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.
