LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's track and field team recorded 19 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference automatic qualifying marks, three NCAA provisional marks and two event wins at the three-day Bison Outdoor Classic that wrapped up Saturday night from Bucknell University.

The highlights of the meet for SRU came on Friday's second day of competition, when
Dalton Anderson won the javelin and
Jason Goodman won the decathlon, both defeating fields that included a number of Division I athletes.

Anderson recorded a season-best throw of 63.97 meters to win the javelin in a field where the top eight throwers all went over 60 meters.
Dylan Close took eighth with a season-best and NCAA provisional throw of 60.11 meters and
Josh Kingerski was 20th with a PSAC qualifying throw of 53.42 meters. As of Saturday evening, Anderson's mark ranks 15th among all throwers in Division II, while Close ranks 25th. Anderson closed his weekend by hitting the PSAC standard in the 110-meter hurdles Saturday with a 32nd place finish in 15.92 seconds.

Goodman won the 10-event decathlon with an NCAA provisional score of 6,791 points. He also hit PSAC automatic qualifying marks in the 110-meter hurdles (15.43 seconds), pole vault (4.28 meters) and long jump (6.76 meters) during the decathlon.
Gavin Thomas took ninth in the event with 5,352 points and hit the PSAC standard in the long jump (6.75 meters) during competition. As of Saturday night, Goodman's score ranked 10th in Division II in the decathlon.

Brenden Lewis led the way in the 110-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 14.98 seconds to place ninth, dipping under 15 seconds for the first time this spring.

The Rock's 4x100-meter relay of
Jonathan Marfisi,
AJ Virata,
Parker Reed and
Bryan Dworek had the next highest finish with a fifth place showing in 41.59 seconds. Virata also took eighth in the high jump at 1.99 meters.

Devon Navaroli recorded a pair of PSAC marks, first clocking 3:57.38 in the 1,500-meter run Friday evening and following that up with a time of 1:55.26 in the 800-meter run Saturday.

SRU got three PSAC marks in the shot put with
Joshua Gose leading the way with a mark of 16.43 meters to place eighth.
John Eakin was ninth at 16.06 meters and
Joshua Rohland was 27th at 13.86 meters.
Brandon McCray capped the PSAC marks for the throwers with a 24th place showing in the hammer after a mark of 46.26 meters.

Cameron Cowder capped the top-10 finishes with a seventh place showing in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.35 meters and
Taye Lynch rounded out the conference qualifying marks with an 11th place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 13.82 meters.

Bucknell's meet was the largest and highest caliber meet SRU has competed in this spring, with numerous Division I teams on hand and many events including more than 75 entries.

Slippery Rock will return home next week to host its final home meet of the spring with the SRU Invitational Thursday at the Bill Lennox Track at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
