PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's track and field team recorded five Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference automatic qualifying marks and 10 top-10 finishes at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational that wrapped up Saturday in Pittsburgh.

Most of the Slippery Rock roster elected not to compete this weekend after rain, snow, cold temperatures and windy conditions made competing difficult.

The Rock recorded three top-10 finishes and three PSAC marks in the shot put, with
Joshua Gose leading the way in second place with a toss of 15.76 meters.
Joshua Rohland was fifth at 14.67 meters and
Eric Schulz was sixth at 14.37 meters.

Joshua VanDeMark also hit the PSAC standard in the hammer throw with a sixth place finish and a mark of 45.52 meters. Rohland was eighth at 44.08 meters.

Jason Goodman clocked a PSAC mark in the 110-meter hurdles with a second place finish in 15.67 seconds and also took second in the 400-meter dash in 50.71 seconds. He closed his weekend by taking fifth in the high jump with a leap of 1.76 meters.
James Amodei and
Erik Amodei tied for ninth in the high jump at 1.66 meters.

Slippery Rock will shift its focus to the first of two home meets when The Rock hosts the Dave Labor Invitational next Saturday at the William Lennox Track.
