YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University women's indoor track and field team recorded 18 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, one NCAA provisional mark and one event win at the YSU Icebreaker Friday at Youngstown State University.

The lone event win for The Rock came in the first event of the day when Anna Igims took first place in the 5,000-meter run with a PSAC qualifying mark of 18:08.13. That kicked off a full day of competition that began at 1 p.m. and didn't wrap up until after 10 p.m. as a total of 55 college teams representing all divisions were in action at the meet.

Slippery Rock got a stellar collegiate debut from Baylee Blauser, who recorded the only NCAA provisional mark of the meet when she finished second in the long jump with a leap of 5.83 meters. Blauser also took fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 11.27 meters to finish her debut with a pair of PSAC qualifying marks. She was joined in hitting the PSAC standard in the long jump by Samantha Gilbert in fourth place at 5.55 meters and Aleks Brozeski in seventh place at 5.43 meters. Brozeski also hit the PSAC mark in the triple jump with a sixth place showing at 11.22 meters, while freshman Alice Bogia also recorded a PSAC mark in her debut with an eighth place finish at 11.10 meters.

The Rock had four women reach the PSAC standard in the pole vault, led by freshman Allie Taylor, who took fourth in the seeded section of the event with a clearance of 3.55 meters in her SRU debut. Kendall Grossman was seventh in the seeded section at 3.30 meters, while Sarah Schneider and Grace Parrett tied for fourth in the unseeded section at 3.20 meters.

SRU had two women in the top 10 in the weight throw with Tiffany Jolayemi and Rachel Hutchinson both hitting the PSAC mark. Jolayemi was sixth with a toss of 15.48 meters, while Hutchinson followed in 10th with a toss of 14.80 meters.

The Rock also had a pair of high jumpers hit the PSAC standard with Cecily Greggs placing eighth in the seeded section with a clearance of 1.60 meters. She was joined by freshman Paige Griffith, who was 11th with a clearance of 1.55 meters.

Chaley Younkin and Chalondra Clarke both snuck in just under the PSAC standard in the 60-meter hurdles with Younkin placing 18th in 9.43 seconds and Clarke following in 19th in 9.45 seconds.

The final two PSAC qualifying marks came in the 60-meter dash, where Gilbert was 12th in the prelims in 7.79 seconds and Regan Johnson was ninth in the qualifying rounds in 8.00 seconds.

The Rock also had three other women record top 10 showings Friday, including Jordan Klick in the 800-meter run (8th, 2:28.97), Olivia Sentle in the seeded pole vault (9th, 3.15m) and Rebecca Martin in the shot put (9th, 11.78m).

Slippery Rock sent a limited roster to YSU this week with most of its distance runners still recovering from cross country season. The Rock's multi-event athletes will open their season Sunday at the Mike Kowal Multi Meet at Edinboro.

This weekend marks the only competition for SRU in 2022 as the team will break after this weekend for finals and the holidays before returning to competition in January.
