MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DAY
As part of SRU's season-long special events calendar, Wednesday's game is Mental Health Awareness Day. In an effort to emphasize the importance of mental health for student-athletes, this year the program is joining forces with the Morgan's Message organization.

Morgan's Message is a non-profit organization that strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics. Morgan's Message aims to expand the dialogue on mental health by normalizing conversations, empowering those who suffer in silence, and supporting those who feel alone.

Morgan's Message was created in honor of Morgan Rodgers, a former Duke Women's Lacrosse player who tragically lost her mental health battle and took her own life in 2019. Her friends and family joined together in 2020 on the 1st anniversary of her passing and wanted to turn their grief to empowerment to ensure that no athlete feels alone like Morgan did.

Sara Danowski, a Slippery Rock women's lacrosse student-athlete and a Morgan's Message Ambassador, will take part in a ceremonial pass back prior to the game.

BOUNCE-BACK GAMES
Looking to rebound from the West Chester loss, Slippery Rock is 8-7 in game's following losses in two years under head coach Rayell Wallace.

LAST YEAR vs. IUP
10 active Rock players competed in both games against Indiana last year.

· Leslie Colliver totaled one assist, a defensive save and two shots on goal over the two games.

· Erin Roland scored one goal and placed another attempt on target.

· Samantha Karmonick assisted on one goal.

· Goalkeeper Grace Burker played the entirety of both games, stopping 10 shots.

LEADING THE OFFENSE
Entering Wednesday's games, Slippery Rock has four athletes this season with 10 or more total points.

Bailee Christman leads the way with 14 points on a team-high six goals and two assists. Colliver is second with 13 points by way of five goals and three assists followed by Roland with 12 points (5 goals, two assists) and Kayla Del Vecchio at 10 (1 goal, 8 assists).

Gianna Conti is on the cusp of joining the quartet as she has nine points off four goals and one assist.

Dating back to the 2003 season, SRU has finished a season with three athletes having scored five or more goals just two other times - in 2013 (Lindsay Brown, Megan McKay and Kelsey Gustafson) and 2017 (Kayla Ulrich, Brittny Morgan, Kailee Krupski).

If Conti does scores her fifth goal it will mark the first time in over 23 years that SRU has had four players with at least five goals scored in the same season.

ROUNDING OUT THE ATTACK
In addition to The Rock's top scorers this season, Karmonick, Grace Maynard and Megan Rude all have two goals apiece while Haley Metcalf and Nadia Irving combine for five assists, three and two, respectively.

ON THE DEFENSE
Burker has played 837:53 of a possible 867:53 minutes this year. She heads into the IUP game with 106 saves, a .693 save percentage and a 3.37 goals against average.

Irving and Addy Ross have made two defensive saves each with Del Vecchio, Alex Held and Gabriella Delcoco chipping in one apiece.

A LOOK AT THE RECORD BOOKS
· With eight assists, Del Vecchio is currently tied for the Slippery Rock single-season assist record alongside Kailee Krupski (2016).

· Del Vecchio, who has assisted on 26.7 percent of Slippery Rock's goals this season, is also climbing the program's career assist ledger as she now ranks fourth alongside Krupski (2014-17) and Gabrielle Malishchak: 11 (2009-12). The program record for assists in a career is 15 by Megan McKay (2013-16).

· As she concludes her second season as SRU's primary goalie, Burker finds herself ranked fifth in program history for saves in a career (181) and seventh in victories (14).

· Burker is 16 saves away from surpassing Maddie Murphy (2017-19) for fourth place on SRU's all-time saves list.

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART (AND WINS) IS
52 of The Rock's 80 wins (.650) over the last decade have come at the friendly confines of Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

IMPORTANCE OF A QUICK START
Slippery Rock is 5-1 this season when scoring the game's first goal, but just 2-5 when opponents score first. SRU is also 3-1 when scoring a first-quarter goal.

WINS vs. NATIONALLY RANKED TEAMS
Since the 2010 season, Slippery Rock has won nine games against nationally ranked teams. The Rock's previous wins against nationally ranked teams include victories against Kutztown (2017 / No. 5), West Chester (2017 / No. 3), East Stroudsburg (2014 / No. 5), Bloomsburg (2013 / No. 7), Indiana (2011 / No. 6, 2010 / No. 7, 2010 / No. 8) and LIU Post (2010 / No. 5).

GET A LEAD, KEEP A LEAD
If SRU can take a lead into halftime it's a safe bet that a win is in the forecast as The Rock are a perfect 4-0 when leading at the halftime of games this season.

CHRISTMAN SCORES, SRU WINS
Slippery Rock is a perfect 6-0 this season when Christman scores a goal and 7-0 when she gets at least one point (goal or assist) in a game.
