LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
Lexie Firment and
Anna Igims both earned All-Conference honors to lead the Slippery Rock University women's cross country team to a fifth place finish at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships Saturday from the West Branch XC Course at Lock Haven University.

Firment earned first team All-PSAC honors by placing inside the top 15 with a sixth place finish, while Igims was named to second team All-PSAC honors after crossing the line in 16th place. Both SRU runners earned their first career All-PSAC honor in cross country.

Firment covered the 5,000-meter course in 18:49 on her way to sixth place. Igims followed in 16th in 19:27.

Julianna Stevens was the third SRU scorer in 44th place in 20:13, followed by
Marie Scarpa in 47th in 20:17 and
Steph Keelon in 53rd in 20:28.

The Rock's sixth and seventh finishers were
Bailey Flood in 57th in 20:38 and
Madison Murtland in 60th in 20:39.

Slippery Rock finished with 166 points to place fifth in the team standings. Edinboro won the meet with 58 points, while Lock Haven placed second with 83 points and Seton Hill and Gannon were third and fourth with matching scores of 118 points. Â Â

A total of 15 teams and 149 runners completed the course Saturday.
Â
Saturday marked the end of a short cross country season for SRU, which will now turn its focus to the traditional outdoor track and field season that is scheduled to begin next weekend.
