NO SPECTATORS ALLOWED
Due to COVID-19 policies in place, no spectators will be admitted to the championship meet.
Â
FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP IN MORE THAN A YEAR
The championship meet will mark the first PSAC Championship event that will be contested in more than a year after the last three championship seasons (spring 2020, fall 2020, winter 2021) were all canceled due to the pandemic.
Â
16 TEAMS COMPETING
A total of 16 of the 18 teams in the PSAC will be competing at the championship this weekend with only West Chester and Pitt-Johnstown opting out of the competition.
Â
SLIPPERY ROCK WOMEN'S PREVIEW
Slippery Rock will send 16 women to compete this weekend, including just six that have represented SRU in a PSAC Championship before and only three that have run in more than one championship meet. The three that will be making their third appearance in a PSAC XC meet are
Lexie Firment,
Julianna Stevens and
Annie Nunley, while
Kate Aldrich,
Carlie Seibert and
Bailey Flood all competed at the most recent PSAC meet back in October of 2019.
Â
Slippery Rock placed fourth in that championship event back in 2019, but Firment is the only returning scorer from The Rock's top five finishers in that meet.
Â
SRU has run just one tune-up race this spring and Firment picked up her first career collegiate XC win by topping the field at the Cal U Invite back on March 6. SRU's scorers at that meet were rounded out by
Anna Igims,
Katie Plassio,
Steph Keelon and Flood, while Stevens was the sixth finisher and
Marie Scarpa came home seventh.

SLIPPERY ROCK MEN'S PREVIEW
Slippery Rock will send 10 men to compete this weekend, including just three that have represented SRU in a PSAC Championship previously and only one that has appeared in more than one PSAC meet.
Â
The lone SRU entry making his third appearance is
Benjamin Buckless, who is also the only returning scorer for The Rock from the 2019 PSAC meet. The only other Slippery Rock men that competed in the 2019 PSAC meet are
Nathan Eadie and
Logan Hogue, who were the eighth and ninth SRU men across the line that year.
Â
The Rock have competed just once this spring when they took second place at the Cal U Invite back on March 6. In that outing,
Shannon Dooley paced the squad with a third place overall finish in a field that included three other PSAC teams (IUP, Cal U, Seton Hill). Buckless was the second SRU finisher, while the freshmen trio of
Devon Navaroli,
Ozzy Moore and
Troy Hart rounded out the five scorers. Eadie and
Alex Dickson were the sixth and seventh finishers.
Â
Slippery Rock placed sixth at the 2019 PSAC Championships.
