Slippery Rock enters the game with a 2-2 record and is coming off a 15-5 defeat on the road at then 22nd ranked Roberts Wesleyan Saturday. The Redhawks jumped ahead of Mercyhurst and moved up to No. 20 in this week's poll, while Mercyhurst slipped from No. 20 to No. 22 this week. The Lakers are 2-1 and are coming off a 19-9 win on the road at Tiffin Saturday.

Mercyhurst owns a 13-1 advantage in the all-time series that dates back to the 2008 season. The lone Rock win in the series came at home against No. 6 Mercyhurst in 2015. Since then, the Lakers have won each of the last four meetings, but all four have been decided by four goals or less and neither team has scored more than 10 goals. Each of the last five games in the series were settled by four goals or less and four of the last five were settled by two goals or fewer, including last year's meeting.

Mercyhurst jumped out to a 5-2 halftime lead and held off Slippery Rock for a 7-5 win at home last spring. The Lakers posted advantages of 30-19 in total shots, 29-26 in ground balls and 8-5 in draw controls. Slippery Rock got five goals from five different players and 12 saves from Haley Barrett. Mercyhurst got two goals from Julia Rescott, who took 10 shots in the game. Kaitlyn Lippert made six saves in the win.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
Slippery Rock led 2-1 just shy of 10 minutes into its game at No. 22 Roberts Wesleyan Saturday before the Redhawks broke the game open on the way to a 15-5 win.
 
The Rock are outscoring opponents 43-41 through four games and are being outshot 102-96 by the opposition. SRU has managed a slim edge of 47-45 in draw controls, while opponents have posted a 97-88 advantage in ground balls.
 
A total of 10 different players have scored points in the first four games, led by ShyAnne Toomer with 13 points on nine goals and four assists and Emily Benham with 11 points on seven goals and four assists. Sami Genztler has 10 points on five goals and five assists to cap the double-digit point scorers. Toomer also leads the team with 13 caused turnovers and 16 draw controls.
 
Katie Dlugosz has scored in seven straight games dating back to last season and has eight goals and one assist. Jamie DiCarlo (5 goals, 1 assist), Tori Penders (4g, 1a), Francesca Lindelow (3g), Molly Buettner (0g, 2a), Hayley Pimentel (1g) and Cam Brady (1g) round out the point scorers. Rachel Shaw leads the defense with nine caused turnovers and 12 ground balls.
 
Haley Barrett has played all but six minutes in goal this season and has a 10.54 goals against average and a .468 save percentage.

SCOUTING THE LAKERS
All three of Mercyhurst's games have been decided by at least 10 goals so far this year after a 16-6 win at Walsh, a 19-2 loss at LeMoyne and a 19-9 win at Tiffin. The Rock and the Lakers have played one common opponent in Tiffin and both teams put up 19 goals on offense. SRU allowed three goals in a 19-3 win, while Mercyhurst allowed nine goals.
 
The Lakers are outscoring opponents 37-34 and outshooting the opposition 87-71 through three games. Opponents owns a 56-46 edge in ground balls and draw controls are even at 38-38.
 
Lacey Netti leads the attack with 15 points on three goals and 12 assists, while Brenna Fosco has five goals and five assists as the only other player in double-digits for points. Julia Rescott is the leading goal scorer with none goals and no assists and Emma Hubert has eight goals and no assists. No other players have more than three points.
 
Kira Kolb leads the defense with six caused turnovers, 14 draw controls and seven ground balls.
