INDIANA, Pa. – The seventh ranked Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team improved to 10-0 on the year with a convincing 15-5 win on the road at Indiana University (Pa.) Saturday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division game from Miller Stadium.

The Rock move to 3-0 in the PSAC West this season after picking up their 20th straight regular season win, their 17th straight conference win and their fifth straight win over IUP. The Crimson Hawks drop to 4-6 overall and 1-2 in PSAC West games with the loss.

Slippery Rock raced out to a 10-2 halftime lead and strung together nine straight goals in the second and third quarters to put the game into a running clock situation early in the second half.

The Rock finished with advantages of 36-16 in total shots, 26-11 in shots on goal, 15-8 in draw controls and 27-20 in ground balls. SRU went 10-of-14 on clear attempts and limited IUP to 10-of-17 on the clear.

The five goals allowed marked the eighth straight game Slippery Rock has allowed six or fewer goals and the ninth time in 10 games this season that an opponent was held to single-digit scoring.

Grace Rotter matched the Crimson Hawks scoring total on her own to lead all players in the game with five goals and one assist for six points.
Reagan Richeson added a hat trick and one assist and
Abby Fink also netted a hat trick to give SRU three players with at least three goals each. Rotter and Richeson also both caused two turnovers and Richeson picked up three ground balls.

Caitlyn Kelly netted two goals while
Isabella Buono and
Maddie Blazey each scored one goal and recorded one assist to round out the point scorers.

Both Buono and Fink reached career milestones in the win after netting their 100th career points. They become the third and fourth players on the current SRU roster with 100 career points, joining Richeson and Rotter.

Shannon Von Kaenel pulled down a game-high 10 draw controls and
Paige Jenkins grabbed four draw controls to go along with four caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Aleigha Dubroc added three caused turnovers and four ground balls and
Violet Freebody caused three turnovers and picked up five ground balls.

Lily Ventresca picked up the win in goal for SRU and improved to 9-0 on the year after allowing just five goals and recording six saves. She entered the game ranked No. 1 in the nation in goals against average and lowered that number to just 5.48 goals per game this season.

Mila Prusak finished with two assists and Macenzie Haragos scored one goal and handed out one assist to pace IUP. Mia Courtalis made her second start of the year in goal and took the loss after allowing 13 goals and recording eight saves in 38:40 in net. Lauren Legrand played the final 21:20 and allowed two goals while making three saves.

After a pair of road games this week, Slippery Rock will return home for two games against the two teams that finished second and third in the PSAC West standings a year ago. No. 21 Seton Hill will visit Wednesday for a 4 p.m. game in a battle of the two nationally ranked teams in the division and Lock Haven will visit Saturday evening for a 6 p.m. game to close out the first round of divisional games.
