Donate to Make-A-Wish via Slippery Rock Field Hockey
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University field hockey team is running a donation drive for the Make-A-Wish-Foundation over the next week leading up to the program's second annual "Make-A-Wish" game on Oct. 22 against Mercyhurst University, head coach
Julie Swiney announced on Wednesday.
Slippery Rock field hockey has set a $500 fundraising goal to be reached by Oct. 22. 100 percent of all donations will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. All donations are tax-deductible.

HERE. Additionally, those present for the Oct. 22 game against Mercyhurst can make a donation by cash or check in person. Rock field hockey will also be selling hair scrunchies on the day of the game for $5, with those proceeds also going towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in the United States that arranges experiences described as "wishes" to children diagnosed with critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish finances its work through fundraisers, individual contributions, corporate donations, foundation grants and planned gifts. The cost associated with coordinating a wish varies depending on the type of wish, but as of 2016, the average cost of a wish was $10,130.
