Donate to Make-A-Wish via Slippery Rock Field Hockey
 
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -  The Slippery Rock University field hockey team is running a donation drive for the Make-A-Wish-Foundation over the next week leading up to the program's second annual "Make-A-Wish" game on Oct. 22 against Mercyhurst University, head coach Julie Swiney announced on Wednesday.
 
Slippery Rock field hockey has set a $500 fundraising goal to be reached by Oct. 22. 100 percent of all donations will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. All donations are tax-deductible.
 
Those wishing to contribute may do so now online by visiting the link at the top of the page or by navigating HERE. Additionally, those present for the Oct. 22 game against Mercyhurst can make a donation by cash or check in person. Rock field hockey will also be selling hair scrunchies on the day of the game for $5, with those proceeds also going towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in the United States that arranges experiences described as "wishes" to children diagnosed with critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish finances its work through fundraisers, individual contributions, corporate donations, foundation grants and planned gifts. The cost associated with coordinating a wish varies depending on the type of wish, but as of 2016, the average cost of a wish was $10,130.
