XC set to host Rock Pre-Nationals Saturday

Slippery Rock will host one of the largest Division II specific cross country meets in the country this Saturday when 32 teams from 10 different states travel to Schenley Park in Pittsburgh for the Rock Pre-Nationals.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University cross country program will host one of the largest Division II-specific meets in the country this Saturday with the Rock Pre-Nationals at the Bob O'Connor Golf Course at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh.

"This will be the first chance we have to show off the hard work so many people associated with our program have put into this new course down in Pittsburgh," said head coach John Papa. "Outside of the National Championship meets we have hosted in the past, this will be the biggest college meet we've ever hosted and it will feature some of the very best teams and individual runners in the country."

The Rock Pre-Nationals will mark the first time runners will see the course that will be used for the 2018 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championships Nov. 17 and the NCAA Division II National Championships Dec. 1, both of which SRU will also host.
