NFHCA Scholars of Distinction
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.- The Slippery Rock University field hockey team placed 17 student-athletes on the 2016 Division II National Academic Squad, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association and Zag Sports.
In order to receive the honor, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or above through the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year.
Highlighting the list of honorees are seniors
Megan McKay and
Kayla Klaus, who were named to the National Academic Squad for the fourth consecutive year.
Additionally, five Slippery Rock University field hockey student-athletes were recognized as Division II Scholars of Distinction.
In order to be named a Scholar of Distinction, a student-athlete must maintain above a 3.90 cumulative grade point average following the fall semester.
Spotlighting the recipients is Klaus, who earned the award for the third time in her career, while Wolfe is a repeat selection to the Scholars of Distinction.
Also joining Klaus and Wolfe are first-time selections freshman
Jordan Barnes, sophomore
Sam Geroski and freshman
Hannah Shirk.
