SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Pitt-Johnstown rode a 27-11 run in the final 10 minutes of action Saturday afternoon to a 76-60 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division women's basketball victory Saturday afternoon over hosting Slippery Rock University in Morrow Field House.
The Rock (4-18 overall, 1-11 PSAC-W) had battled their guests to a 49-49 stalemate in the first 30 minutes of action before the Lady Cats (8-14, 5-7) went on their decisive run.
Junior forward
D'Asia Chambers scored a team-high 16 points and grabbed six rebounds for The Rock, while senior center
Jazmyne Frost collected 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Katie Rathman, the only two seniors on The Rock roster, were honored during a pregame ceremony as part of the Senior Day event.
The game was also part of the Play 4 Kay breast cancer awareness promotion as well as The Rock's annual National Women and Girls in Sports Day project.

Danielle Garroutte grabbed eight rebounds to tie Frost for team-high honors in that category.
Nicole Carman scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds in a substitute role to pace a four-player, double-digit scoring attack for Pitt-Johnstown. Leah Hansen scored 15 points, Jasmine Harper added 14 points and Kelsey Sleighter chipped in 11 points for the Lady Cats.
The Rock made 33% (21 of 64) of their field-goal attempts in the game with a 21% (4 of 19) showing from 3-point range and sank 14 of 22 (64%) free throws.
Pitt-Johnstown shot 42% (27 of 65) from the field and 38% (11 of 29) from 3-point range with an 85% (11 of 13) showing from the foul line.
The Lady Cats also had a 45-39 rebounding advantage and were on the low end of a 20-17 turnover comparison.
Pitt-Johnstown held a 42-33 lead at halftime and added the first two points in the final half to take an 11-point lead after 45 seconds of action in the second stanza.
Undaunted, The Rock went on a 16-5 run to knot the score at 49-49 on a jump shot by Chambers with 10:51 left to play.
A 3-point shot by Hansen 10 seconds later put the guests back in the lead and they never trailed thereafter.
The final 16-point margin was UP-J's largest of the game. SRU's largest lead was a three-point, 8-5, with 17:43 left in the first half.
The Rock will look to snap their five-game losing streak Wednesday when they travel to Erie to take on Mercyhurst University in a 5:30 p.m. PSAC West game. SRU is then idle for one week before returning home for a 6 p.m. game Feb. 19 vs. Edinboro.
