The Rock was 28.6 percent from beyond the 3-point line (4-of-14), but didn't need the long ball thanks to 32 points in the paint. More importantly, Slippery Rock finished 66.7 percent at the free throw line, hitting 16-of-24 attempts.

The game was close throughout most of the first 30 minutes, with Slippery Rock leading by just one, 34-33 at halftime, and the teams trading short spurts for most of the opening part of the second half.
The game was tied for the last time at 48-48 with 9:10 to play when Slippery Rock jumped away with a 12-2 run to open up a 60-50 lead with 5:01 to play.
Mercyhurst slowly chipped away at the deficit, cutting it to four points on three occasions inside the final minute, but clutch free throw shooting from Olkosky and the dagger takeaway and finish from Chambers sealed the win.
