LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's basketball team had its three-game Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference winning streak come to an end Sunday in a 68-59 road loss at Lock Haven.

The Rock ends the weekend with a 5-5 overall record and a 3-1 showing in league games. The Bald Eagles improve to 5-4 overall and 2-2 inside the PSAC with the win.

Slippery Rock was led in the loss by freshman point guard
Iyanna Wade, who turned in a 20-point, six-assist, two-rebound performance. Wade's 20 points was a career-high while her six assists marked the seventh time this year in which she's dished out at least five assists.

Karianna Woods and
Sophia Hook chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively, with Hook grabbing four rebounds and Woods distributing four assists and making one steal.

Rounding out The Rock's starting lineup was
Kayley Joseph-Bernard, who went for five points, 11 rebounds, four steals, two assists and one block, and
Alyssa Gillin's nine-point, four-assist, two-block afternoon.

Freshman forward
Jorja Bernesser came off the bench to play a season-high 11 minutes, finishing with two points, two rebounds and one block.

Slippery Rock closed the game shooting 40.3 percent (25-of-62) from the field overall, 41.7 percent (5-for-12) from 3-point range and 57.1 percent (4-of-7) at the foul line. SRU committed 13 turnovers in addition to forcing the Balde Eagles into 13 miscues, which were translated into 15 points off turnovers.

While Lock Haven shot just 37.8 percent (28-for-74) from the field overall and 9.1 percent (1-for-11) from 3-point territory, the Bald Eagles converted 11-of-15 (.733) free throw attempts to go with a commanding +28 (50-22) rebounding margin which included 21 offensive rebounds.

Slippery Rock scored the game's first five points and led for the majority of the opening 15 minutes, but with SRU leading by six points (21-15) early in the second quarter it was the Bald Eagles that controlled the rest of the half by finishing on a 15-7 run to take a slim 30-28 lead of their own into the halftime break.

While SRU connected on 4-of-8 3-pointers and outshot Lock Haven overall in the first two quarters, Lock Haven earned its lead thanks to forcing 11 Rock turnovers and holding a +12 (25-13) rebounding margin.

A comeback was not to be for The Rock as Lock Haven grew its lead out to as many as 12 points in the third quarter before eventually taking a 51-42 advantage into the fourth on the way to the final nine-point victory.

Madeline Evans recorded a 16-point, 16-rebound double-double while Alana Robinson scored 22 points to lead Lock Haven.

Slippery Rock returns to Morrow Field House to finish up PSAC crossover play 3 p.m. Jan. 2 against Bloomsburg and 1 p.m. Jan. 3 versus East Stroudsburg University.
