URBANA, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University women's basketball team dropped an 83-63 decision Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at Urbana University's Grimes Center.

The Rock trailed by just six points at halftime, but Urbana managed 14-point edge in the second half to pull away for the win.

Six players tallied points for Slippery Rock, led by a double-double from D'Asia Chambers and a team-high scoring effort from Jazmyne Frost.

Chambers scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the season and Frost netted 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Aidan Geise was a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line and finished with eight points. Erica Aiello chipped in seven points and five assists, Rebecca Olkosky added six points and Megan Hardiman contributed five points and seven rebounds to cap the scoring for The Rock.

Urbana was led by a 22-point, nine rebound showing from DeVonyea Johnson. Kennedy Boggs added 16 points and Kate Francisco chipped in 14 points.

Slippery Rock finished the game shooting 40 percent from the field, connecting on 24-of-60 attempts. The Rock was 20 percent from beyond the 3-point arc (3-of-15) and was 66.7 percent at the free throw line (12-of-18).

Urbana used a 44-37 advantage in total rebounds to scored 15 second chance points. The Blue Knights shot 42.5 percent from the field (31-of-73), 38.7 percent from 3-point (12-of-31) and were a perfect 9-for-9 at the free throw line.

The loss drops Slippery Rock to 0-3 to start the season. The game was the season-opener for Urbana.

Through three games, Slippery Rock can look at the bright spot of having Frost back in the lineup. After missing most of last year with an injury, Frost has been dominant through three games this winter. She is shooting an incredible 74.2 percent from the field (23-of-31) and is averaging a double-double of 19.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.

The Rock returns home to open conference play in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Wednesday when Clarion visits Morrow Field House for a 6 p.m. tip.
