First Half Stats
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The field hockey match between Mercy College and Slippery Rock University Friday night at Mihalik-Thompson in Slippery Rock was cancelled due to lightning.
The Rock was leading Mercy 4-0 with 13:04 left in the first half before the referees called a 30 minute delay. Both teams waited in their respected locker room for the storm to pass but after just more than an hour delay the game was called.
Before the game was cancelled, SRU was dominating the Mavericks. Shots were 10-0 and penalty corners were 4-0. Goals were scored by
Kelsey Gustafson,
Kaitlin McGinnis,
Ally Banks and
Rebecca Williams.
Kaili Simmons had two assists as well for Slippery Rock.
There will be no official record of the game and statistics will not count. There are no plans to reschedule the game.
Mercy is slated to play Lidenwood Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium while The Rock will be back in action Sunday at noon against Lindenwood.
