BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Hosting Bowling Green State University ran out to a 55-14 halftime lead Saturday afternoon en route to a 105-39 win over Slippery Rock University in women's basketball exhibition-game action at the Stroh Center.
The NCAA Division I Falcons had 58% (21-36) of their field goal attempts in the first half, compared to a frigid 20% (5-25) showing by the Division II Rock.
SRU's shooting touch got a little better in the final 20 minutes as the Green and White shot 37.5% (9-24) following the intermission. BGSU continued it hot shooting in the final half as the hosts made 53% (17-32) of their field goal attempts in the final 20 minutes of action.
The Rock finished the game with a 29% field goal shooting percentage with a 36% (8-22) subtotal on 3-point shots. Bowling Green finished the game with a 56% field goal shooting percentage and a 22% (4-18) showing from beyond the arc.
The hosts held commanding leads in rebounding (43-28), turnovers (34 for SRU, 9 for BGSU), free throw attempts (37-6) and free throws made (25-3).

Danielle Garroutte shared team-high scoring honors for SRU with six points each.

Bowling Green was led by Allison Papenfuss' game-high totals of 29 points and eight rebounds.
The Rock, which lost a 106-35 exhibition decision Friday night at the University of Michigan, officially its season next Saturday with a 6 p.m. home game vs. Urbana University in Morrow Field House.
