Julie Swiney has announced that a Nike Field Hockey Camp will take place at Slippery Rock July 29 – August 1.
The Nike Field Hockey Camp will be open to girls between the ages of 10-18 and will offer extended day and overnight options at separate prices.
Campers will check in at Watson Hall July 29 between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Check out is set for August 1 at 11:30 a.m.
The total cost of the camp for overnight participants, including instruction, room and all meals, is $435. Extended day campers will be on campus from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for a rate of $335, which includes instruction, lunch and dinner each day.
Swiney and SRU assistant coach Maribeth Brozena will be the camp directors. Current members of the SRU field hockey team will assist them.
The camp is designed to be an all-skills camp, with the focus being on offensive and defensive skills, game situations and small game strategies. Campers will be trained individually in all major fundamentals of the game.
Campers are guaranteed a minimum of six hours of instruction per day, special goal keeping instruction, personal evaluations, a reversible jersey, STX water bottle and an STX ball.
