PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- Casey Quinn reached the 100 career goal milestone and the Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team handed Lake Erie College a 25-9 defeat in non-conference action Tuesday evening at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium.

Quinn entered Tuesday's game needing two goals to reach the century mark and hit that figure at 21:55 of the first period when she scored her second goal of the game. She finished with four goals and joins Amy Halls as the two current members of the team with 100 or more goals. Only four players in SRU lacrosse history have joined the century club.

With the win, Slippery Rock improves its season record to 7-4 overall. Lake Erie drops to 2-4. The seven wins match the 2010 team for the most since the program was reinstated in 2007 and give The Rock their seventh season all-time with at least seven wins.

Tuesday's game was all SRU from the start as The Rock put up a season-high 19 goals in the first half while allowing just six tallies from Lake Erie. Slippery Rock went into cruise control in the second half and took just eight shots, holding the ball and working the clock.

Halls led all scorers in the game with seven goals and one assist. She also added three draw controls, two ground balls and one caused turnover.

Emma VanDenburg had her most outstanding offensive performance of the season, netting three goals and handing out four assists to rank second in scoring. Katie Roof added three goals and three assists to go along with a team-high four draw controls.

Quinn added a team-high three caused turnovers to her four-goal performance, while Lauren Laubach also finished with four points on two goals and two assists.

Ariel Knox scored one goal and added two assists and Alexis Slutsky scored two goals and added two caused turnovers. Hannah Bonfiglio scored two goals, while Morgan Pettit found the back of the net once and handed out one assist and to cap The Rock scoring.

Kat Elkins earned the win in net, playing the first 30 minutes and recording five saves. Ariel Gilbert played the second half and allowed three goals.

Lake Erie was led by Ashriel West with four goals, while Allison Trombetti added two goals and two assists. Caitlin May posted game-highs of seven ground balls and six caused turnovers.

Brittanie Johnson played just over 51 minutes in goal and was credited with the loss after allowing 23 goals and recording five saves.

Slippery Rock finished the game with advantages of 34-18 in total shots, 22-18 in ground balls and 23-13 in draw controls. The Rock cleared the zone successfully on 8-of-10 attempts and limited Lake Erie to 5-of-14 on clear attempts.

The game's first goal came on Slippery Rock's first possession when Slutsky scored unassisted less than a minute in. Lake Erie answered in the second minute to tie the game at 1-1 before The Rock broke the game open.

SRU put together a 5-0 run to open up a 6-1 lead and then strung together runs of 3-0, 5-0 and 5-0 to open up a 19-6 advantage at the half.

Lake Erie tallied the first goal of the second half but could never get the game back inside the 10-goal running clock situation.

Slippery Rock will return home to host Kutztown in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match Saturday at Thompson Stadium. First draw is set for 7 p.m. The Rock has just one remaining road game on the regular season schedule, next Tuesday at Indiana (Pa.), before closing the season with four consecutive home games.
