GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University field hockey team inched closer to clinching a berth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference tournament with a 2-1 victory over Seton Hill Saturday in Greensburg, Pa.
With the win, Slippery Rock improved to 5-11 overall and 4-4 in the PSAC-West and maintained a one-game advantage over Mercyhurst (7-9, 3-5 PSAC-West) for the third and final PSAC-West playoff spot.

Courtney Lee evened her record to 5-5 on the season after stoping four shots while allowing one goal in 70 minutes.
The Rock started out quickly when Brosse took a pass from Malishchak and beat Seton Hill goalie Rebecca Portillo for a score just 1:48 into the game. The score remained 1-0 until Ashley Reid tied the game at 1-1 with a goal at 21:36. The team's headed into halftime with the game tied at 1-1. Slippery Rock once again came out of the gates quick with a Brown goal 44 seconds into the second half to give The Rock a 2-1 lead it was able to keep for the rest of the match.
Slippery Rock will look to win its third consecutive game when it plays another crucial PSAC-West game 7 p.m. Wednesday against Mansfield. The game, an away contest for SRU, will be played at Lock Haven due to poor field conditions at Mansfield.
