EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University field hockey team was held scoreless Saturday, as East Stroudsburg defeated SRU 2-0 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference crossover match. Slippery Rock, which was playing the second of four consecutive road games, record fell to 3-9 overall on the season.
East Stroudsburg (4-7) outshot The Rock 18-7 and also held an 11-3 edge in penalty corners. Sophomore Allison Banks paced the Slippery Rock offense with two shots on goal. Junior

Gabrielle Seibert got ESU out to a 1-0 lead 20:06 into the first half when she scored off of an assist from Brielle Kessel. The 1-0 score lasted well into the second half before Lauren Ventrella added an insurance goal for ESU at 57:32 en route to the 2-0 win.
Slippery Rock will look to break its two-game losing streak 7 p.m. Wednesday at Indiana (Pa.) in a PSAC-West showdown. Slippery Rock is 2-2 in the PSAC-West this season.
