RALEIGH, N.C. -- Kevin Jewel posted an NCAA provisional qualifer in the 800-meter run to lead the Slippery Rock University men's track and field team at the Raleigh Relays this weekend, hosted by North Carolina State.

Jewel posted an NCAA provisional qualifier in the invite section of the 800-meter run, placing 12th in 1:52.89.

Jewel was joined by Phil Rector, who placed 18th in a time of 1:53.91, narrowly off the provisional mark of 1:53.00.

Chris Warning placed eighth in the discus with a throw of 47.23 meters and Dylan Klein placed 10th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:03.27 to cap the top men's performances.

The remainder of The Rock track and field teams that did not travel to Raleigh competed Saturday at the Western Pennsylvania Championships at California (Pa.).

Next up for SRU will be the Bucknell Distance Carnival on April 9 and the SRU Invitational Saturday, April 10.
