The Slippery Rock University field hockey team dropped a 3-2 decision Wednesday at Seton Hill. The Rock now holds as 2-11 overall record and a 1-4 record in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division.

Rock drops a 3-2 decision against Seton Hill

GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University field hockey team dropped a 3-2 decision Wednesday at Seton Hill. The Rock now holds as 2-11 overall record and a 1-4 record in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division. 

Junior Samantha Badaczewski got The Rock on the board first scoring her second goal of the season at the 16 minute mark. SRU held on to the lead for six minutes, when Seton Hill's Breanna Wong scored off of a Allegra Ramos pass to tie the game 1-1 going in to the half. 

The Rock was outshot 7-3 in the first half. 

The Griffins came out fast in the second half, at the 44 minute mark, Janelle Hofer's shot found the back of the goal to break the time and give Seton Hill their first lead of the game, 2-1. At 58:25, Ramos scored off of a Michelle Hogan assist to take a 3-1 lead. 

Sophomore Skylar Brosse tried to lead the charge for The Rock, scoring her first goal of the season at 66:06 to reach the final score of 3-2. Seton Hill improves to 6-6 overall this season. 

SRU recorded 12 shots in the game, and also recorded 12 corners.

Junior Katie Krouse freshman Gabrielle Malishchak and Brosse recorded three shots, Badaczewski recorded two shots and sophomore Erin Moran took one shot. Junior Lisa Belcastro recorded nine saves. 

The Rock returns to action Saturday against Millersville at Thompson Stadium. The game will start at 1 pm.
