SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Sophomore goalie
Lisa Belcastro recorded 20 saves Tuesday afternoon to lead The Rock effort in a 6-0 loss to visiting Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Shippensburg at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
The Rock (2-8 overall, 0-5 PSAC-West) was outshot by a 31-4 margin by the Red Raiders (8-1 overall, 2-1 PSAC-W), who are currently ranked third in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II national poll.

Belcastro entered the game ranked second in the nation in saves per game (10.78), eighth in save percentage (.764) and 17th in goals allowed average (3.38). She trails only Anne Strobel of Philadelphia University (11.71) in saves per game.
Behind Belcastro's lead, The Rock leads the nation in saves per game with an 11.44 average.
Tuesday's game was the third straight played by The Rock against teams ranked in the NFHCA national top 10. The Green and White lost a 5-2 decision last Saturday to #5 Kutztown and took #8 East Stroudsburg to the limit last Sunday before falling by a 1-0 score.
The Rock, which has now lost seven straight games, is idle for one week before it entertains Millersville in a 4 p.m. game Sept. 23 at Thompson Stadium.
Four days later, the Green and White open the second round of PSAC-Western Division play with a 4 p.m. game at top-ranked Indiana (Pa.).
