SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Freshmen Skyler Brosse and Brittany Schultz each scored a goal Thursday afternoon to account for The Rock points in a  5-2 loss to visiting Seton Hill in non-conference action at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

Schultz scored SRU's first goal in the 17th minute of action off an assist from senior Jennifer Venet. The goal tied the score at 1-1.

Brosse's goal, scored off an assist from freshman Ashley Adams in the 3th minute of action, snapped a string of three straight goals by the visitors and made the score 4-2.

That's where the score stood at intermission; Seton Hill (4-3) scored the final goal of the game in the 64th minute.

Rock sophomore goalie Lisa Belcastro was credited with 11 saves, while Seton Hill netminder Michelle Kleinschmid turned aside 13 Rock shots.

The Rock (2-5) outshot their guests by a 22-18 margin.

Tuesday's outcome gave The Rock and Griffins a 1-1 standoff in the season series. SRU won a 4-3 overtime decision Sept. 4 in Greensburg.

SRU returns to action at noon Saturday, when it will host fifth-ranked Kutztown in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference "crossover" game at Thompson Stadium.

That will be the second of five straight home games the Green and White will play in the span of 13 days.

Saturday's game will also be the first of three straight The Rock will play against teams currently ranked in the top 10 of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II national poll -- Kutztown, No. 6 East Stroudsburg one day later and No. 4 Shippensburg on Sept. 23.
