SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Rock dropped a 9-1 decision Saturday afternoon to two-time defending NCAA Division II national champion Bloomsburg in season-opening Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

Sophomore forward Katie Krouse scored the lone Rock goal, which came after Bloomsburg had taken a 7-0 lead.

Rock sophomore goalie Lisa Belcastro recorded five saves in the contest as Bloomsburg outshot SRU by a 23-4 margin.

The Rock returns to action at 10 a.m. Monday, when it will host Catawba College at Thompson Stadium.
