INDIANA, Pa. -- Top-ranked Indiana (Pa.) needed a pair of late goals Saturday night to subdue a determined Rock squad, 2-0, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action.
The Crimson Hawks (10-0 overall, 5-0 PSAC-W) did not score their first goal until the 56th minute of action in the defensive battle.
The Rock (2-10, 0-4 PSAC-W) was held without a shot during the 70 minutes of action while Indiana fired 23 shots at Rock goalie
Lisa Belcastro.
Belcastro (pictured above), the national leader in saves per game, turned aside 16 shots on goal in the first 66 minutes of action before she was replaced by
Olivia Lampenfeld, who recorded one save in the final four minutes.
The Rock will look to snap a nine-game losing skid Wednesday when it hosts ninth-ranked Mansfield (6-7 overall, 2-3 PSAC-W) in a 4 p.m. division game at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
