SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Junior
Jen Harpp and senior
Jaime Wright finished fourth and fifth, respectively, Saturday morning to lead the 25th-ranked Rock to a share of the team title in the SRU Pre-National Invitational at Cooper's Lake Campground.
The Rock shared the top spot with sixth-ranked Cal State Los Angeles. Both teams finished the meet with 107 points.
Unranked Wayne State (Mich.) finished third with 119 points, followed by #14 UC San Diego with 125, #20 Dallas Baptist with 127, unranked Indiana (Pa.) with 173 and #18 Bloomsburg with 187.
Harpp and Wright both recorded times of 22:19 on the 6,000-meter course. Wayne State's Rachelle Mailet was the individual winner with a time of 21:35.
The Rock's third through fifth runners were
Laura Mucho in 10th place at 22:47,
Crystal Burnick in 33rd place at 23:28 and
Leslie Kramer in 55th place at 24:08.
The Rock's next meet willl be the Penn State National Invitational on Oct. 17.
