SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Sophomore goalie Lisa Belcastro recorded seven saves Wednesday afternoon in The Rock's 2-0 loss to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Mercyhurst at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
Wednesday's game was the season finale for The Rock, who finished the season with a 2-16 overall record and an 0-8 PSAC-West mark. The Green and White lost their last 15 games after starting the season with a 2-1 record.
Mercyhurst, which last week handed top-ranked Indiana (Pa.) its first loss of the season, improved its record to 9-8 overall, 4-3 in division play.
The visiting Lakers outshot The Rock by a 13-4 margin, including a 9-3 margin in shots on goal. Mercyhurst goalie Jennifer Macri was credited with three saves.
Emily Warren paced the winning attack as she scored the second goal of the game after assisting on the first tally. Sarah Wowkowyck scored the first goal and Megan Rasmussen assisted on the second.
