UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Senior Jaime Wright placed 40th in the individual competition Friday morning to lead The Rock to a 16th-place finish in the Penn State National Invitational.

Wright covered the 6,000-meter course in a time of 21:41. Junior Jen Harpp placed 50th with a 21:52 time, senior Laura Mucho finished 98th at 22:56, sophomore Crystal Burnick was 124th at 23:33 and junior Jennifer Pace was 139th at 23:38.

As a team, The Rock finished 16th out of 28 squads.

The Rock's next competition will be the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships, which will be held Nov. 1 in Lock Haven.

One week later, SRU will host the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional meet at Cooper's Lake Campground south of Slippery Rock.

That sets the stage for the Nov. 22 national championship race, which will also be held at Cooper's Lake.
