SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Rock (2-13) lost a 3-2 decision in overtime against visiting Bellarmine (6-10) in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
Sophomore Katie Krouse and senior Jennifer Venet each scored a goal in the match-up.
Krouse scored with five minutes left on the clock in the first half to tie Bellarmine, marking her third goal of the season.
Answering Bellarmine's second half goal was Venet, sending the game into overtime. Venet's goal registered her sixth of the season, leading the Green and White.
Unable to hold on, and with a player injured, The Rock let up the final goal with a minute left in overtime.
Leading the SRU defense was senior goalie Lisa Belcastro (pictured above) that tallied 12 saves in the contest bringing her season total to 173. Assisting Belcastro on defense was Venet with one defensive save and sophomore Allie Hartman that tallied two.
Bellarmine's two regulation goals were scored by Ellen West and Cassie Dalrymple. Making the break-away game winning score was a Dalrymple.
The Green and White return to action at noon this Saturday when they travel to Shippensburg (11-3, 3-2)in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division game.
