BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- Two-time defending NCAA Division II national champion and current No. 2-ranked Bloomsburg blanked The Rock, 8-0, Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference "crossover" action.
The Huskies recorded five first-half goals and added three second-half tallies en route to their 13th win in 14 games this fall.
The hosts, who handed SRU a 9-1 loss in the teams' season-opening game Aug. 30, took 25 shots Saturday, 18 of which were "on goal." The Rock, meanwhile, was unable to attempt a single shot.
Rock sophomore goalie
Lisa Belcastro turned aside 10 shots in the first 63-plus minutes of action before sophomore
Olivia Lampenfeld played the final six-plus minutes. Lampenfeld did not record a save.
The Rock will seek to snap an 11-game losing streak Monday when it hosts Bellarmine (Ky.) in a 4 p.m. non-conference game at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
