LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse All-Americans Grace Rotter and Paige Jenkins swept the Western Division Athlete of the Week awards when the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its weekly lacrosse awards Tuesday.
 
Rotter was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Week and Jenkins was named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week. This marks the second Athlete of the Week honor this spring for Rotter, the fourth Defensive Athlete of the Week award for Jenkins and the second time the duo has swept the weekly awards in the same week.
 
Rotter, a senior from Beverly Hills, Michigan, led Slippery Rock to another 2-0 week with a pair of convincing wins over No. 22 Seton Hill and Lock Haven. She outscored Seton Hill on her own with six goals and one assist in The Rock's 10-5 win over the Griffins and followed that up with a hat trick in a 20-5 win over Lock Haven. Over the two games, she also grabbed five draw controls, three ground balls and caused one turnover to go along with nine goals and 10 points on the week. 
 
Jenkins, a junior from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, led the No. 1 ranked defense in the country to a pair of wins last week with a 10-5 victory over No. 22 Seton Hill and a 20-5 win over Lock Haven as SRU stayed perfect on the year. She finished the week with seven caused turnovers, 13 ground balls and six draw controls. In the process, she tied the all-time SRU career record with 101 caused turnovers while also topping the 100 career ground ball milestone. Jenkins was particularly dominant in the 20-5 win over Lock Haven, where she caused five turnovers, picked up a career-high nine ground balls and snagged four draw controls. 
 
Slippery Rock finished the first round of PSAC West divisional play with a 12-0 overall record and a 5-0 mark in the division. The Rock will open the second round of conference play with a noon road game at Gannon Saturday.
