SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team held steady at No. 7 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association national poll and No. 3 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine national poll when the Division II national rankings were updated Monday.
Â
The IWLCA poll is widely used as the official national ranking throughout the season. Slippery Rock opened the year at No. 8 in the preseason poll before slipping to No. 11 before even playing a game. The Rock jumped up to No. 7 after a 2-0 week to open the season and have remained there since. SRU opened the year at No. 6 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll and has climbed to No. 3, where they remain for the third week in a row.
Â
Slippery Rock stayed near the top of the polls after a 2-0 week last week that included a 22-3 home win over Wheeling and a 9-4 win on the road at Lander. The Rock opened the 2026 season with three straight wins over reigning conference champions and NCAA Tournament qualifiers from last spring with wins over Ashland, West Chester and Grand Valley State.
Â
SRU is one of seven undefeated teams remaining in Division II. The Rock rank fourth nationally in scoring defense (6.33 goals per game), 13th in scoring offense (15.17 goals per game) and eighth in scoring margin (+8.83 goals per game).
Â
The top 14 places in this week's IWLCA poll were unchanged from a week ago. Slippery Rock continues to be the top ranked team from the Atlantic Region at No. 7. The Rock are joined in the top 10 by East Stroudsburg, the only other undefeated team in the region, at No. 10.
Â
West Chester held steady this week at No. 11, Wingate held its spot at No. 13 and Kutztown moved up two spots to No. 15 to give the Atlantic Region five teams in the top 15 this week. The region also has two more teams in the top 25 with No. 20 Seton Hill and No. 22 Anderson (S.C.) closing out the seven teams from the region in this week's top 25.
Â
Slippery Rock will close out a two-game swing in South Carolina with a trip to Newberry College Wednesday for a 4 p.m. game before returning home to open PSAC play Saturday with a noon game against Gannon. Â
