Â
STILL A LOT TO PLAY FOR
While Slippery Rock is eliminated from PSAC Tournament contention, Saturday's game is far from meaningless as a victory over Mansfield would hit several team milestones and send SRU into 2027 with momentum.
Â
A Slippery Rock win would…
• Give Slippery Rock 11 overall victories in 2026, which would mark just the second time in program history a Rock team won more than 10 games in a year. Â
• Give SRU three PSAC wins, which would be tied for The Rock's third highest conference win total in the last decade.
• Match Slippery Rock's highest finish in the PSAC standings since 2017.
• Tie this year's team for the second most home wins in a single-season in program history.
• All but ensure that SRU finishes the season ranked in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Top 10 poll (SRU is currently 10th in the country).
Â
5th BEST TURNAROUND IN NCAA
After going 5-12 last year, Slippery Rock has completely turned its field hockey program around in 2026. With 10 wins entering its season finale, SRU's five-win improvement from a season ago is currently tied for fourth best win improvement between 2026 and 2025 in the entire NCAA regardless of division.

HOFFMAN TIES CAREER ASSISTS RECORD
With two assists against West Chester, senior
Hilary Hoffman tied Megan McKay (2013-16) for first place on The Rock's career assists ledger at 15.
Â
Additionally, Hoffman's seven assists in 2026 are tied for the third most in single-season program history. An assist against Mansfield would give Hoffman sole possession of The Rock's career record and move her into a tie for first place alongside Kayla Del Vecchio (2022) and Kailee Krupski (2016) in terms of assists in a single season at SRU.
Â
HUTCHINSON TIES GOALS MARK, CLOSING IN ON POINTS RECORD
The PSAC leader, and one of the most dynamic goal scorers in Division II this season,
Lucy Hutchinson scored her 16th goal of the season in the West Chester loss. The score moved her into a tie for The Rock's single-season goals record with McKay (2015).
Â
A goal against Mansfield would give Hutchinson sole possession of The Rock's single-season record in addition to moving her into another tie with McKay for SRU's single-season points mark of 38 – Hutchinson currently has 36 with 16 goals and four assists).
Â
