Slippery Rock athletic communication intern Ryan Mosher has been named the 2025 Bill Esposito Memorial Award winner by the Eastern Athletic Communications Association.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University athletic communication intern Ryan Mosher has been named the 2025 Bill Esposito Memorial Award Winner by the Eastern Athletic Communications Association.

The Esposito Award is presented annually to one graduating senior from an East-Comm member institution who wishes to pursue to a career in athletic communication. Nominees can come from all levels of collegiate athletics with the East-Comm footprint stretching from New England to the Carolinas.

Mosher, who earned his undergraduate degree in sport management from SRU in May, becomes the second Slippery Rock student to win the award since its inception in 1996, joining 2018 winner Matt Keenan. Slippery Rock becomes the fifth institution in the award's history to have two winners, joining Colgate, Syracuse, SUNY Brockport and Mansfield.

"I'm thrilled for Ryan to be recognized for his efforts in our office over the last few years," said Jon Holtz, director of athletic communication and the 2007 winner of the Esposito Award. "Winning this award launched my own career, so having another one of our students be recognized with this honor brings me a great deal of pride. We cannot be successful in our office without the efforts of our students and Ryan has done a tremendous job with us. We can't wait to watch the development of his career in the coming years."

Mosher, a native of Central Square, New York, spent the last three years working as a student-worker in the SRU athletic communication office. His responsibilities grew each year until he spent the 2025 spring semester doing a full-time internship to satisfy his final graduation requirement. He was involved in all facets of the office, from writing content for the website to working on statistics and video broadcast crews at home events.

His efforts at Slippery Rock will continue for the next two years as Mosher has been hired as the SRU athletic communication graduate assistant. He will begin his new role at The Rock in August and will be the primary contact for the men's and women's soccer teams in the fall, women's basketball team in the winter and softball team in the spring while he pursues a master's degree in business administration.

Mosher will be presented with the Esposito Award at the annual East-Comm Workshop during an awards banquet Thursday evening, June 26 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The full list of former Esposito Award winners is available HERE.
