IWLCA All-America Team
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Three members of the Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team earned All-America honors when the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced its NCAA Division II All-America team Wednesday.

Paige Jenkins becomes the first SRU player to ever earn first team All-America honors at the Division II level, while midfielder
Leora Owings and attacker
Grace Rotter were named to third team honors to mark the most All-America selections in a single year in program history.

Prior to this spring, only two players in program history had been named to the IWLCA All-America team with attacker Amy Halls earning second team honors in 2011 and goalie Emily Bitka earning second team honors in 2018.

The IWLCA announcement comes a few days after USA Lacrosse Magazine announced its All-America team, which saw Slippery Rock land four selections there. Jenkins and Owings becomes consensus All-Americans after also being named to that squad. They were joined on the USA Lacrosse Magazine team by defender

Lily Ventresca, giving SRU a total of five All-Americans across the two teams.

The All-America honors come the day before Slippery Rock appears in the NCAA Tournament semifinals for the first time ever. The Rock qualified for the postseason for the first time at the Division II level and picked up a pair of road wins over regional powers East Stroudsburg in the second round and undefeated No. 1 seed West Chester in the quarterfinals. SRU earned the No. 2 seed in the semifinals and will play No. 3 seed Adelphi Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. at Kerr Stadium in Salem, Virginia with a spot in the national title game on the line.

Jenkins, a sophomore from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, was already named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year to go along with first team All-PSAC and All-Region honors and second team USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America honors. She leads a defensive unit that has ranked in the top 10 all year in scoring defense and caused turnovers with 42 caused turnovers to go along with 64 draw controls and 36 ground balls. Jenkins also has one goal and one assist on the year.

Owings, a junior from Medina, Ohio, was also named to first team All-PSAC and All-Region honors earlier this year and honorable mention All-America honors by USA Lacrosse Magazine. She has put together a stellar season up and down the field and leads SRU with 133 draw controls whole ranking fourth on the team in scoring with 25 goals and 22 assists for 47 points. Owings also leads all midfielders or attackers with 31 caused turnovers and 41 ground balls.

Rotter, a junior from Beverly Hills, Michigan, earns her first career All-America honor after also picking up first team All-PSAC and All-Region honors earlier this spring. In her first season at SRU, Rotter has racked up a team-high 74 points to mark the third-most points in a single-season in program history. She has netted 48 goals to go along with 26 assists while also recording 25 caused turnovers and 20 ground balls.
