IWLCA All-Region Teams

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team landed four players on the All-Region team in the Atlantic Region when the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced the Division II All-Region teams Wednesday.

The Rock are represented on the first team by defender Paige Jenkins, midfielder Leora Owings and attacker Grace Rotter, while defender Nicole Masi was named to the second team. All four women will advance to the All-America ballot with the IWLCA set to announce the 2025 All-America teams May 21.

The four selections to the All-Region team ties the 2024 team for the most honorees in a single year in program history. Jenkins is a repeat selection after earning second team honors last spring, while Masi also adds her second career All-Region award after being named to the second team in 2023. Owings and Rotter pick up their first career All-Region honors.

The foursome of All-Region selections have helped Slippery Rock to the best season in program history this spring. The Rock went 10-0 in the PSAC West to win their first division title and have already set a program record for single-season wins with a 17-2 overall record. SRU won its first-ever NCAA Tournament game last week with a 9-6 win at East Stroudsburg in the second round and is one of just eight teams left in the national playoffs entering this weekend's quarterfinals.

Jenkins, a sophomore from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, was named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year and picked up first team All-PSAC honors earlier this spring. She leads a stellar Rock defensive unit with 41 caused turnovers, 60 draw controls and 36 ground balls. Jenkins also has one goal and one assist on the year.

Her and Masi, along with fellow senior standout Amelia Nitsche, have combined to form one of the best defensive units in the country. The Rock rank seventh na
tionally in scoring defense, allowing just 8.05 goals per game, while also ranking sixth nationally in caused turnovers with 13.32 per game.

Owings, a junior from Medina, Ohio, also picked up first team All-PSAC honors earlier this spring. She has stuffed the stat sheet for SRU this year and is among the team leaders in just about every category. She ranks first on the team and 11th nationally with 125 draw controls, ranks fourth on the team in scoring with 22 goals and 21 assists for 43 points and leads all midfield or attackers with 30 caused turnovers and 38 ground balls on the year.

Rotter, a junior from Beverly Hills, Michigan, was also named to first team All-PSAC honors earlier this spring in her first season at SRU after transferring in following the closure of Notre Dame College in 2024. She quickly became a vital piece of the SRU attack and has led the team in scoring this spring with 45 goals and 23 assists for 68 points. Her 68 points rank fifth all-time at The Rock in single-season scoring. Rotter has teamed with fellow attackers Regan Richeson (48g, 11a, 59 pts) and Abby Fink (46g, 12a, 58 pts) to become the first trio in program history with 58 points or more in the same season.

Masi, a senior from Rochester, New York, also picked up first team All-PSAC honors earlier this spring. She ranks second on the SRU roster with 33 caused turnovers and 38 ground balls and has turned the ball over just four total times in 19 games this year. She currently ranks eighth all-time in SRU history with 80 caused turnovers and is one of just eight players in program history with 80 caused turnovers and 100 ground balls in a career.

Slippery Rock, which is the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic Region, will play at No. 1 seed West Chester Saturday at 3 p.m. in the regional championship with a spot in the national semifinals on the line.
