SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University women's tennis team will play three matches over the next five days as it enters the stretch run of its regular season schedule.

THE SCHEDULE
Slippery Rock opens its week by hosting Seton Hill University for a 4:30 p.m. Wednesday Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division match at the SRU Tennis Courts followed by weekend bouts on the road against Lock Haven University and West Chester University.

SENIOR DAY WEDNESDAY
Prior to Wednesday's match, the SRU women's tennis program will host its annual Senior Day celebration at 3:45 p.m.

The lone senior on this year's roster is
Georgie Lancaster. A native of Bromley, England, Lancaster arrived at The Rock as a freshman during the 2021-22 season and has gone on to compile 64 total victories in singles and doubles competition while helping Slippery Rock to three NCAA Tournament appearances. Â

RECORDS & LAST TIME OUT
• Slippery Rock almost earned a big Atlantic Region victory in a close 4-3 loss to No. 40 Charleston. SRU opens the week with a 6-8 overall record and a 1-1 mark in the PSAC West.

• Following losses to IUP and California, Seton Hill has dropped to 2-7 overall and 1-2 inside the PSAC West.

• Lock Haven, which has its first conference match at Indiana (Pa.) on Wednesday before its tilt with The Rock, defeated Penn College, 5-2, on April 2. The Bald Eagles' record currently stands at 2-5 overall. Â

• West Chester is in the midst of an uncharacteristically tough year. A 4-3 loss to Bloomsburg on April 4 moved the Golden Rams' record to 3-12 overall and 0-3 inside the PSAC East.

BALAGUER BRAU EARNS WEEKLY HONOR
For the fifth time in her two-year Slippery Rock career,
Amaia Balaguer Brau was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Week. She earned her latest award after posting a perfect 4-0 record between singles and doubles play over two matches last week.

Balaguer Brau was a flawless 2-0 at both No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles alongside partner
Tina Slovak as The Rock blanked Clarion 7-0 and narrowly missed earning a victory against No. 40 Charleston in a tight 4-3 loss to the Golden Eagles.

Amaia Balaguer Brau, the reigning PSAC West Athlete of the Week and 27th-ranked singles athlete in the country, is hitting her stride in the late stages of the regular season with five consecutive wins that have bumped her record to 18-8 overall and 9-5 from the first flight of dual matches.

Nicole Kempton, The Rock's typical second and third-flight entrants, are both enjoying winning streaks as well with Kivi having taken her last two matches to stretch her rookie record to 15-7 overall and 8-3 from the second flight while Kempton has posted three consecutive triumphs and enters the Seton Hill match 13-8 overall and 8-3 in third flight play.

Dari Sakhanova is also in possession of a winning overall record at 13-9 including a 6-5 showing when playing from the fifth flight.
