SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University offensive lineman
Joe Cooper added another All-America honor Tuesday when he was named to the 2025 Walter Camp Division II All-America team.
Â
Cooper, a senior from East Berlin, Pennsylvania, has now been named to all five Division II All-America teams that have been announced this fall with first team selections to the Walter Camp team, the Associated Press team, the American Football Coaches Association team and the Don Hansen Football Gazette team to go along with a second team recognition on the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association team.
Â
He picked up his second straight All-America awards from both the AP and D2CCA after also previously earning his third straight All-PSAC honor and his second straight All-Region award earlier this fall.
Â
Cooper started every game this season at left tackle. A pro prospect that received visits from dozens of NFL scouts this year, Cooper protected the left side on an offensive line unit that allowed just 10 total sacks all year with a freshman quarterback. SRU ranked No. 1 in the PSAC West and No. 16 among all teams in Division II in the fewest sacks allowed in 2025.
Â
The Rock ran for 217.8 yards per game and put up 418.1 total yards of offense and 32.7 points per game. Cooper and the SRU offensive line blocked for running back
JayJay Jordan, who ran for 1,375 yards and put up 1,858 all-purpose yards this year on his way to being named the PSAC West Offensive Player of the Year.
Â
Cooper appeared in 43 games over his SRU career and started the last 38 straight games, missing zero starts in 2023, 2024 or 2025. He helped The Rock to the NCAA Playoffs in three seasons with two trips to the quarterfinals and one appearance in the national semifinals.
Â
One of the highlights of Cooper's career came on Senior Day this fall, when he scored a one-yard rushing TD in a win over Clarion on the only carry of his career.
Â
Cooper was also named as one of the eight national finalists for the 2025 Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year award and finished fourth in the national voting for that honor.
Â
With just the D2football.com Elite 100 remaining to be announced, Cooper has a chance to become the first SRU offensive lineman to earn consensus All-America honors with selection to every Division II All-America team since Cory Tucker accomplished that feat in 2015.
