STANDINGS CHECK
With seven matches left in the regular season, Slippery Rock finds itself positioned in a three-way tie for sixth place in the PSAC West standings. Clarion comes to Morrow Field House slotted fifth in the standings, one match ahead of the sixth-place pack.
Â
• The top half of the conference standings have seen Gannon stake solid claim to first place with a perfect 7-0 league mark followed by the trio of IUP, Pitt-Johnstown and Edinboro in second place with matching 4-3 records inside the PSAC West.
Â
• The top four teams in the Western Division standings at the conclusion of the regular season qualify for the PSAC Tournament.
Â
• With only Gannon having truly separated itself from the field, there is still plenty of time for The Rock to play their way into tournament contention, but to do so they must start stringing together victories as we enter the late stages of the season.
Â
DIFFERENCES IN WINS AND LOSSES
In its nine wins this season, Slippery Rock has recorded a .174 attack percentage while limiting its opponents to a .116 attack percentage. However, in their 11 losses The Rock's attack percentage plummets to .123 with opponents carrying a .207 attack percentage.
Â
VONDERHAAR, PASQUALE REMAIN AMONG D2'S BEST
Lauren VonderHaar and
Kara Pasquale head into the Clarion match ranked among the nation's best in blocks and digs, respectively.
Â
• With 98 blocks (28 solo / 70 assisted / 1.26 per set), VonderHaar ranks eighth in the country in total rejections and 18th in blocks per set.
Â
• Pasquale's 378 total digs rank 23rd across all of Division II.
Â
• Not just defensive forces, VonderHaar is also second on The Rock in kills (146 / 1.87 per set / .260) while Pasquale's 10 aces are the fourth highest total on the team.
HOME IS WHERE THE KILLS ARE
In The Rock's four home PSAC West matches this year,
Callie Chevalier has averaged 14.5 kills per match compared to just 5.3 per outing in SRU's three PSAC West road matches.
Â
A starter in all 20 matches this season, and one of five Rock athletes to have played all 78 sets, Chevalier has recorded 226 total kills (2.90 per set, .143%) while also making 206 digs (2.64 per set), tallying 39 blocks (five solo / 34 assisted) and serving eight aces.
Â
In addition to leading SRU in total kills, Chevalier also ranks second on the team in digs and third in blocks.

Â
EVERYONE HELPS UP FRONT
Behind VonderHaar's impending 100-block season, are eight other Rock athletes with double-digit block totals on the year, which have helped Slippery Rock climb to 25th in the nation, and second in the PSAC, in blocks per set on the year (2.33).
Â
• With 13 rejections in her last five appearances,
Addison Jones has taken second place on The Rock's rejection ledger with 40, narrowly ahead of Chevalier and
Emry Rumbaugh with 39 apiece.
Â
•
Victoria Nalbach (32),
Ava Haynes (24) and
Kaitlyn Danszczak (18) follow with impressive block totals in relatively limited sets played with
Marley Annis and
Gwen McCarthy rounding out the leaders at 10 blocks each.

Â
TIGHT RACE FOR ACE LEAD
• With 65 of The Rock's 102 aces (63.7 percent), SRU's serving efforts have been spearheaded by the trio of
Paityn Krause,
Jaeden Yost and Annis.
Â
• The setting tandem of Krause and Yost have each served 22 aces in their 78 sets played this year. Annis is right behind the duo with 21 aces.
Â
• Yost has the chance to become just the third athlete in program history, along with Peggy Gregory (1989-92) and Anastasia Urbanik (2005-08), to have produced at least 30 aces in four consecutive years.
Â
• Krause and Annis, both of which are sophomores, have easily cleared their ace totals from their rookie years.
ROUNDING OUT THE ATTACK
Supplementing The Rock's top three attack leaders is a group of five athletes with at least 48 kills each.
Â
• Annis is closing in on her first 100-kill collegiate season as she enters the Clarion match with 93 over her 73 sets played. She's also compiled 154 digs at a rate of 2.11 per set.
