A LOOK AT THE ATLANTIC REGION RANKINGS
• Slippery Rock remained positioned in third place in the most recent set of Atlantic Region rankings released Wednesday behind Charleston and Indiana (Pa). Mercyhurst was ranked fourth followed by Fairmont State, Millersville, West Virginia Wesleyan, Frostburg State and Shaw.
                                                                                                                   Â
• Conference Tournament champions from the PSAC, Mountain East Conference and Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association as well as the next four highest ranked teams in the region at the end of year qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
Â
• The NCAA will unveil the complete 48-team tournament field 8:30 p.m. May 6 on NCAA.com.
Â
• While an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament is already all-but ensured for Slippery Rock, it is likely that SRU needs to win the PSAC Tournament championship to jump into one of the top two seeds as two of SRU's Division II losses this season have come against Charleston and IUP.
Â
• Millersville meanwhile appears to be firmly on the bubble of NCAA Tournament contention. A win against Slippery Rock would not only keep its conference title hopes alive, but more than likely be enough to clinch an at-large bid for the Marauders regardless of the championship match results.
Â
• SRU has qualified for the NCAA Tournament in six of the last seven years that a full season has been completed.
