LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Slippery Rock University women's tennis standout
Amaia Balaguer Brau has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Balaguer Brau earned her second PSAC West Athlete of the Week honor of the year after helping to lead The Rock to a perfect 3-0 record last week with conference shutouts of Seton Hill University and Clarion as well as a 6-1 Atlantic Region victory over West Chester University.

Playing out of the No. 1 singles flight as well as The Rock's top doubles position with partner
Nicole Kempton, Balaguer Brau produced a total of six wins with three victories in both disciplines.

The No. 72 Division II singles athlete in the most recent set of Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, Balaguer Brau's perfect week improved her record to 13-9 in singles matches and 12-7 in doubles bouts so far during the 2023-24 season.

Slippery Rock will take a three-match winning streak and 9-6 overall record into a key home match against Mercyhurst 4 p.m. Wednesday at the SRU Tennis Courts.
